Snippets represent another step in my ongoing quest to ensure that everyone gets the colours their hearts desire.  I go to great lengths to ensure that the photographs on the website look exactly like the real life skeins on my monitor, but monitors on the receiving end can vary a great deal. While a few inches of yarn can't convey the full subtleties of a complex colourway, it can answer questions of hue (eg. do the reds lean to blue or to yellow, is that jewel toned blue really bluegreen?) and darkness/depth of shade (eg. is that black or grey?)

Snippets come from the collected scraps generated by reskeining and re-tieing the dyed skeins for quality control. They are not sorted by dyelot or yarn type, though I do make an effort to include 2 different yarn types in each sample, for a broader idea of the colourway's range. In general, newly posted snippets will come from the most recent dyelot.

The Snippets category is also a natural place to write about the subtleties of a colourway in detail, including the ways it may be affected by different yarn bases, so even if there are no samples currently in stock, you'll be able to correlate the description with the picture on your monitor, for a more accurate impression.
