I create unique works of art imbued with meaning and story: necklaces patterned after local flora, bracelets inspired by rainy day puddles, fine natural fibre yarns hand-dyed in the incomparable colourways of Nature.  My work flows from mindful observation (through my ever present camera), and an intimate connection to the Whistler landscape.    I create with natural materials – fine wool and silk, precious metals, incomparably beautiful gemstones, drawing on my skills as a textile artist, knitwear designer, and jeweller.  My work sells internationally, and has been featured in Vogue’s knitting magazine.

While always seeking to be imaginative and unusual, I also strive to work within the framework of wearability.  I believe that comfort and ease of movement are critical to the enjoyment of jewellery, and choose to see functionality as a stimulating creative challenge, rather than a limitation.

I create because I cannot live any other way.  I crave the sense of flow, the moment of bliss when a piece of work reaches the place of harmony.  I adore the incomparable subtlety of colour, texture and light play in gemstones and natural fibres. I gravitate towards subtle, rich colours, organic textures, lines that are fluid, powerful, uncluttered and sensual. My inspiration comes from my natural surroundings, and from themes of feminine strength and motherhood. I am of Celtic and Viking heritage and often incorporate the ancient symbols in my work.

I live in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada with my husband and two children.  The natural beauty of the mountains provides endless artistic inspiration, and we particularly appreciate the opportunity to lead a year-round outdoor oriented lifestyle, virtually free of the need for motorized transportation.
